Open Question: AVG installation problem!?

I used to have AVG Free on my computer but I uninstalled it because it had errors. I installed norton but it didn't do as good of a job as avg so I uninstalled norton. Now I'm trying to install AVG 7.5 but I keep on getting this error halfway through installation:

Other websites have told me too delete all avg or grisoft folders and I have done that but it didn't help. It also said to delete all avg or grisoft registry keys in regedit or regedt32, but there's a problem there too. Say I click on AVG.Kernel, it says "Cannot open AVG.Kernel: error while opening key". When I click delete it says error while deleting key. So I researched that and all websites say to give my account permission. No luck, it says
Unable to save permission changes on AVG.Kernel:
Access is denied.

Open Question: Serious Error in Windows XP Pro?

So i installed some new software. Everything seemed to be good untill i went to open it. When I opened it I got a blue screen with the error, DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL. I restarted. My computer then went into a loop in bootin up and restartin itself before it could get to my logon screen. It kept bringin me to the menu with Win in Safe Mode, Last Known config, Start win normally. After trying to start windows normally i did it in the last known good config. I evenutally got back into windows and unistalled the program. It told me to restart and again with the loop. I get back into windows and after it finishes booting up i get the same blue scrn. I reboot again loop again evenutally get to logon screen it says it cant find my settings so it brought me to a guest account Now i reboot it loops i get back into windows and its giving me an error messagethat windows recovered from a serious error. When i reboot the same the keeps happening. I get a blue scrn every 2x. What do I do?

My sister's company is trying to find some sort of online calendar/community networking. They just want one large account they log in to and are able to send messages back and forth to each other on it - or post public or private messages. Being able to view each others calendar is very important.

I wanted to know how I can set up a computer to log in with the account of another computer in my LAN. Most schools let you log in to any computer on the campus with your one username and password. They keep all of your saved data and account information on one big server locked in the deepest corner of the school. I wanted to know how they set this system up. I looked at the Computer management crap but I don't think that it is possible to do a remote login without using some special software.

When you log in, you have to log in with a specific "domain", often the name of the school. I've searched up about domains (I think you have to pay for them) but I don't really understand that much about them.

I bought a copy of CS2 off Ebay. I loaded it into my computer with no problems. The serial worked fine. When I the register screen popped up, I registered & it said it was successful. But, every time I reopen CS2 the register screen popsup. I contacted Adobe & they said my serial is invalid. I found that if I run as an administrator & register, the register screen does not pop up anymore. Now,when I check my Adobe account it shows that I do not have this software registered. So, it is not registered, but the pop up is gone. Is this software legit? What is this serial for this software? A bootleg, a crack... What should I say when I confront the seller? She has sold 20 or 30 of these and has 100% feedback. Maybe none of here others customers are running Vista & have problems with the pop up?? I spoke to her on the phone & she seems really surprised at this & is sending me a replacement. Is it legal to be able to activate Photoshop but not register? I know registration for PS is optional

Voting Question: How do I contact the IRS about correcting an incorrect routing number?

I did my taxes with Tax Cut as I did last year. When my data was imported, the bank info imported as well. When my refund wasn't deposited on the 15th as the IRS said it would be, I opened my refund only to discover that the routing number was incorrect. The bank changed the routing number when it upgraded software last year so that there was only one routing number for all accounts. It was so close to the beginning of the year that I forgot I'd used the old one last year and didn't check the info as closely as I should have. I have called the 800 number for the IRS only to be dumped into an automated system that doesn't help me. The local offices have phone numbers but don't take live calls. The Tax Cut helpline didn't have any other numbers to offer me. How can I contact the IRS and fix this ASAP?
I was afraid that I wouldn't be able to correct it and they would send me a paper check. Does anyone know roughly how long this will take?

I have 3 computers, each is running a different Ebay account. Ebay installs spy software on your computer to check your mac address. They also check your IP address to see if you have multiple accounts. How do I set up an internet connection so each computer will have a different IP address AND MAC address? If I get dynamic DSL, is there a way I can use 3 DSL modems and connect the DSL line to whichever I need to use? What company offers this kind of service and what package do I need?

I am not trying to bid on my own items. If ebay shuts down one of my accounts for the items I sell, I want to have others as back ups. So the IP addresses and MAC addresses can not be related in anyway. Also, I use 3 computers to keep it more simple in case I forget to delete cookies/change IP addresses.

First let me say that when i had my anti virus software going correctly i was having people in chatrooms know what was in my documents and reading it back to me, it said people were trying to get into email accounts and trying to guess passwords and disc trays were opening and shutting by themselves.. so i did a system restore. this disabled my firewall for some reason. This was about 5 days ago. So i turned on the windows firewall temporarily till i get around to installing new anti virus.. now once in awhile every 4 or 5 hours or so the firewall will turn off on me out of the blue. He lives 400 miles away, has a PC that has been completely re-imaged since I've visited, and he thinks I am looking at his chats on line somehow. Without installing some kind of spy or sniffer software directly to his laptop (could i even do this from 400 miles away? I'm not on his network or anything like that!), is there anyway I could even accomplish this if I wanted to? What if I had his password?

From what I can tell on my own Messenger account, chat logs are saved to the hard drive of the computer accessed from, not on a server somewhere. Also, I know from experience that 2 people can't be logged onto the same account at the same time....it always kicks the original user off with a message to that effect.

I know it seems like the relationship is doomed anyway, but it would mean a lot to me if I could somehow convince him that I'm not so snoopy as to monitor his chats.
if I logged onto his account at the same time he was logged on, how would i actually be able to see his chats? would just clicking on one of his contacts that he happens to be chatting with let me watch the messages back and forth?

Resolved Question: How to reconfigure my router-DSL modem?

I needed to change my PC's hard drive, so I lost all of the software I had installed on it. I have a Westell gateway (a router/DSL modem) for internet connection, but since I lost the Verizon DSL software, I have to reinstall it. I tried to do this but the installation CD does not allow you to reinstall the software on the same computer unless you are a new, rather than existing, user. I do not want to create a new Verizon account, I simply want to reconfigure the router so that I can connect to the Internet. But If I choose "existing user," the program saids that it cannot detect an ethernet adapter, which is needed to pick up the signal from my router. So basically it is assuming that I am trying to connect a second computer to the network, which is not the case. So is there any other way to reconfigure the router?
