VIDEO - Peregrine interactions
Not Channel Islands related, but well worth passing on to those interested in peregrines. This video was shot by peregrine researcher Guido Aijkens in the Netherlands. Not only is the video high quality, but it captures some very interseting peregrine interactions that may or may not be more common than we are aware of. Here is what Guido had to say about the video:
"Last week I was taping a live-stream of a couple of peregrines breeding at The Mortel (Brabant, The Netherlands). I just had my recorders running, when an intruding adult female dropped in at the box, and took a few look inside. At that moment the male was on the eggs. He's shouting at her, but he is wise enough to leave. Good luck the breeding female was not at the eggs, the story could have ended quite different for the birds and their 3 eggs.
For those who want to see the whole event (it's a very high resolution cam) go to the link below. The clip is around 6 minutes, and about 13Mb so downloading can take some time depending on your internet connection speed. - Guido Aijkens"
